Missional Staffing: Staffing with Purpose
THU, OCT 3, 2024

Topic: Missional Staffing – Staffing with Purpose
The Church has a mission to be Christ in the world. As local churches, we discern what that means for us in this moment and then act accordingly. This is what missional (or mission-centered) ministry means. And it demands a lot of us, especially when it comes to deploying the ministry resource of paid staff. Join us for a discussion of choosing, training, and managing (hiring, disciplining and terminating) this important ministry resource from a missional perspective.
Facilitator: The Rev. Nayiri Karjian
Nayiri is the Transitional Conference Minister for the Florida Conference, UCC and served as the General Minister of the Association from February 2018 to September 2024. An Armenian Christian born and raised in Aleppo, Syria, Nayiri graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Haigazian University, and Near East School of Theology, Beirut Lebanon; and with a Master of Divinity degree from Lancaster Theological Seminary, Lancaster, PA. Since her ordination in 1985 she has served UCC congregations in Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Connecticut, Wisconsin, Chicago, Houston, St Louis, and Colorado Springs. Nayiri has shared her gifts both as settled and transitional Minister, including numerous board and committees on the UCC National Setting.
