Our Purpose

_______________

Our grants program supports congregations
as they turn faith into action by building
strong, resilient, beloved
communities.

Our Goals

_______________

Goal 1:
Differentiate Our Approach

Continually differentiate our approach to community engagement from problematic notions of Christian mission.

Goal 2:
Support Without Control

Increase awareness about the tendencies of service programs to support and maintain systems of control and oppression.

Goal 3:
Champion Prophetic Action

Support congregations in moving their ministries beyond direct service by championing prophetic action.

Goal 4:
Model Collaborative Empowerment

Ensure our grant programs are equitable, cede power to our congregations, and support ministry programs that are in direct collaboration with and led by those who are closest to the ministry.

Goal 5:
Model Trust and Collaboration

Limit the information we require to what can be demonstrated to be beneficial for our Association and, more importantly, for the congregations we are supporting.

Our Priority Areas
_______________

FOOD
_______________

A right to food is about more than preventing hunger. It is about ensuring health and well-being.

HOUSING
_______________

Everyone deserves housing that allows them to live with dignity, regardless of their income level.

EQUITY
_______________

The opposite of poverty is dignity. Dignity is freedom. It is choice. It is having control over decisions in our lives.

COMMUNITY
_______________

Building a just world starts by strengthening community partnerships and organizing for social change.
