Topic: Understanding Neurodiversity in Church

How can we ensure that our ministries are truly accessible to everyone God brings through our doors? Join us for an enlightening presentation with Allie Factor, Special Needs Consultant, as we discover what neurodiversity means and why understanding it is essential for a thriving, compassionate faith community. Most importantly, you will walk away with practical, actionable tools to immediately apply this knowledge to your own ministry, creating a deeply welcoming environment where every individual can belong and grow.

Facilitator: Allie Factor & Connor Filkins

Allie Factor After five years in the public school system as a Special Educator, Allie brings her training and experience of multiple trauma-informed care and educative styles right to our ministries and families. While staying up to date on new findings and applying real-life experiences, she hopes to empower educators and ministry leaders through a greater understanding of social-emotional and behavioral needs of children and youth.

Rev. Connor Filkins joined First Congregational Church of Hudson in 2022 as the Associate Pastor for Youth Ministries. In this role, he leads high school and middle school programming, including confirmation classes, works collaboratively with Youth Board and leads the annual summer mission trip with Appalachia Service Project (ASP).
